For my podcast, I wanted to share the story of one of my closest mentors. Entrepreneurship has always been something that intrigued me, but I‘ve never had the guts to do it. So for my podcast, I decided to set up a zoom call with Casey Bonner, the owner, and creator of CBThreads. I talked with Casey about the process of creating something out of nothing, how to come from a small town, and be successful.
So we chatted on zoom, for about 2 hours but I cut down to the best most important tips and info that Casey provided, reduced the background noise and awkward zoom glitches to compose this podcast. After that, I added in some copyright free music and created the logo for the cover and there was my finished podcast.
Going through this process has taught me to pay attention to the small details of an audio track and to use Audition to remove those noises. I have also learned just how often we as speakers use filler words and after listening back to the Zoom recording audio is can be very distracting if I hadn’t removed the ‘Ums’ and ‘Likes.’
Podcasts have become an extremely popular form of media and this project will be extremely helpful for me in the future. This project has allowed me to learn the basic tools need to create a podcast, something that I am now considering as a point of career interest. These skills will help me keep up in the extremely competitive media world by keeping my proficiency in the news trend of media output that many people and companies are turning to.
